How many types of teeth whitening are there?

Which whitening type is the best for me?

If the teeth are already white but the desired shade is whiter, a home type whitening would produce the most comfortable treatment for the patient. But if teeth are yellowed from consumption of coffee, tea and cigarettes, then an office type whitening solution would produce the most effective result. For the assessment of best whitening solution, you should contact our doctors for an exam.

How long does whitening treatment take?

Our in-office solutions take 30 mins-1 hour depending on the desired final shade. Home-type whitening treatment takes 4-6 hours daily for 8-10 days with our custom made tooth trays. Combined treatment takes 2-3 days after the initial visit.

I have sensitivity on my tooth, can I still get the treatment?

Patients with sensitivity issues can still get whitening treatment. For the assesment of cause and evaluation of treatment, please contact our clinic.

What should I pay attention to after getting the whitening treatment?

After the whitening treatment, for the first 2 weeks our patients are advised not to drink any staining liquids like wine, coffee or tea or consume any acidic foods and drinks like coke or consume any tobacco products. Otherwise the teeth can get stained and our treatment's effect would be reversed.

What is single tooth whitening?

Single tooth whitening is a treatment that is used for bringing the natural color of a tooth with internal discoloration. For this treatment the tooth needs to be root canal treated, or our doctors can do the root canal treatment in our clinics. Filling of the tooth are removed, our whitening gel is applied inside the tooth and patient is called back every 3rd day for shade assesment.

Does tooth whitening have any side effects?

Whitening can cause mild discomfort and sensitivity of the first few days. Usually the sensitivity issues go away within 24-48 hours with proper brushing.

Is teeth whitening treatment permanent?

After the whitening treatment the effects of our treatment start to fade. The time depends on our patient's usage of tobacco products or eating and drinking habits. It takes between 6 months to 2 years for the old shade to come back. After 6 months, a second or third sesssion can make the whitening permanent for the patient.
